Tour Itinerary

Arrive at McCarren International airport in Las Vegas and transfer to our tour hotel. Tonight you’ll have a chance to meet your fellow riders and van driver at a detailed Orientation Meeting, then head out for a great meal and some cold drinks under the towering casinos of Las Vegas!
Today we will grab our bikes and our sunblock and head out to explore the “sandscapes” of Nevada and Southern California! We’ll roll through the small desert oasis towns of Death Valley Junction, Shoshone and Tecopa before arriving in Furnace Creek where we will spend the night below sea level! Cold drinks and a swim in the pool in the heart of Death Valley – can’t get better than that for our first day!
Today is all about the extraordinary landscape that makes up the Mojave Desert! Together with the Great Basin desert to the north and the Sonoran desert to the south, this area makes up one of the largest deserts in the world. From Furnace Creek we’ll make our way past sand dunes, forests of Joshua Trees, and dozens of species of cactus. Take a break at the historic Kelso Depot in the Mojave Desert Reserve and then head south to the shores of the Colorado and our stop for the night, Lake Havasu City – home of the second most famous London Bridge! Enjoy an evening of relaxing along the shoreline of Lake Havasu and soaking up the warmth of a desert sunset.
Leaving the Colorado River behind, we continue our exploration of the southern California deserts with a ride along the Twenty-Nine Palms Highway into the amazing Joshua Tree National Park. Grab your riding gear and get ready for the incredible scenery of jumbled rocks and twisted Joshua Trees that can only be seen in the Mojave Desert around this park! We’ll end our day in the resort town of Palm Springs where another dip in the pool, great food and cold drinks will celebrate the end of our day!
Today we work out way south from the Mojave to the Anza Borrego desert. We’ll ride along the shores of the desert anomaly – the Salton Sea, stop by the Anza Borrego Desert State Park Visitor Center where we can explore the incredible variety of cacti and flowering plants that make up this desert landscape. From there you can head up to the mountain town of Julian to sample its’ famous apple pies, or head to the border town of Calexico before up in the beautiful seaside city of San Diego. Tonight you can explore the nightlife of San Diego in the famous Gas Lamp District, historic Old Town or along the waterfront.
Make sure you pack your beach towel and swimsuit as today we head north through classic southern California beach communicates such as Del mar, Oceanside, Dana Point and Newport Beach! Stop for a coffee, lunch and perhaps a swim in the surf before turning our bikes back in to EagleRider LAX. For those with a bit more time, or for those who will be spending some more days in Los Angeles, take your time and enjoy the ride. Be sure to let us know if you would like to arrange a room at one of our partner hotels or resorts in Los Angeles or anywhere else tonight.
