EagleRider will debut a new location to serve the Sanford area in central Florida. Sanford, the county seat of Seminole County, is conveniently located about halfway between the theme parks of Orlando (28 miles) and Daytona Beach (38 miles), making it a great jumping off spot for motorcyclists on a mission.
Known locally as the “Historic Waterfront Gateway City,” Sanford sits on the southern shore of Lake Monroe at the head of the St. Johns River. Native Americans first settled the area thousands of years before the city was formed. The Seminoles arrived in the 18th century. In 1836, the US Army established Camp Monroe and built a road that eventually became Mellonville Ave.
Sanford is home to Seminole State College of Florida, the Wayne Densch performing arts center, the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens. Its downtown bustles with shops, restaurants, a marina and a lakefront walking trail. The Orlando Sanford International Airport is in the heart of the town and functions as the secondary commercial airport for international and domestic carriers in the Orlando metro area.
