Great Ocean Road and Tasmania - Australian Motorcycle Tour - Itinerario di viaggio

"You arrive at Melbourne International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Melbourne has been voted as the world's most liveable city. There are fabulous parks, quirky laneways, restaurants and cafes and innumerable bars and nightclubs. Tonight you will enjoy a Welcome Dinner with your fellow riders before collecting your bike and heading off in the morning. "
This morning you pick up your bike at EagleRider Melbourne and begin your journey heading out to the most spectacular road in Australia. The Great Ocean Road travelling through the tourism-based towns of Anglesea, Torquay and Lorne before spending the night at Apollo Bay
Today you continue to travel the Great Ocean Road. In addition to travelling on a road "built" for motorcycles we will make our way to Cape Otway to look for Koala’s and we will stop to take in the views at Gibson’s Steps, the "12" Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and the Bay of islands.
Today we head north travelling on country roads to Dunkeld before taking the twists and turns of the tourist road to Halls Gap. Halls Gap is the heart of the Grampians and is surrounded by the Wonderland and Mount William Ranges. It has beautiful valleys, unusual rock formations‚ waterfalls‚ scenic drives and lookouts. The park is one of Victoria's most beautiful natural attractions. Wander around the area taking in the views or watch the kangaroos and wallabies.
Today we will head back to Melbourne to catch the Spirit of Tasmania to Tasmania. However we will make the most of the opportunity and visit one of Australia's premier tourist attractions, Sovereign Hill in Ballarat. After leaving Ballarat head we will head for the Ferry and travel overnight to Tasmania.
In Tasmania it is the roads that are the main attraction but there are a number of things we must do today. The first is a stop to visit to Richardson’s Harley Davidson in Launceston; The second is for a sea food lunch at St Helens and there is a Motorcycle Museum at Bicheno that is worth a visit. If it’s wildlife you would like to see, try the Penguin tour in the evening.
Apart from the ride today, the main attraction is the Port Arthur Historic Site. This is a must-see tourist attraction. Port Arthur is a large site holding many stories.  Places like the Penitentiary, which was originally constructed as a flour mill and granary in 1843 before it housed hundreds of convicts in dormitories and solitary cells; or the much-feared Separate Prison, where harsh physical punishment was replaced with punishment of the mind.
Today is a motorcycling ride. Enjoy the road. Although the journey is 377 kilometres ride time will be 4.5 hours. There are many spectacular views and places to stop. One of these is the sculpture at Derwent Bridge called The Wall in the Wilderness.  It is carved from three-metre high wooden panels and tells the story of Tasmanian history in the Central Highlands region – starting with the indigenous people, then pioneering timber harvesters, pastoralists, miners and Hydro workers. There is also a cafe at the Wall. The destination of Strahan is famous as the gateway to the Franklin – Gordon River National Park. Tonight we will take a boat cruise through the wilderness and temperate rain forests.
"This is the last day on the bikes in Tasmania before heading back to Melbourne on the Spirit of Tasmania. The first part of this ride is similar to yesterday as the road is through and around the edge of a National Park. Your accommodation tonight will be on board the Spirit of Tasmania. The next morning travel back to EagleRider Melbourne in Ringwood."
"Today you will drop your bikes off EagleRider Melbourne after an evening trip on the Spirit of Tasmania. Even though the trip is over, we will all get together for a Farewell Dinner before heading off on our respective journey’s back home. "
