I did the tour in September 2015, with Alan Dunn the tour guide, Tim Matlock as the back-up / van driver.
The trip was awesome, from the time I was picked up / introduced to the above named personnel the night before, then in the morning was drove to the bike pick-up at the L.A. Harley centre "Eagle Rider centre" we were given a free motorcycle jacket, our name was on the bikes we had chosen, we had a bike introductory from the hire team, then set off.
The things I seen on the trip where out of this world, I will never forget the friends I made and sights I seen, I would like to think that I made friends for life.
If you have not watched the Film Easy Rider, it will help with the film locations, the first day is the hardest, but you soon get into a rhythm and it is great. Hotels were very good, and a nice breakfast every morning.
Safety is important to all riders, so every morning we where told what to expect / look out for.
The midway break was great, as i'm not American it was nice to see a town and how different it was from my town in England.
The trip came to a end in New Orleans, once again it was nice to have a look around under my own steam so to speak.
I have to say if you are thinking about this trip do it, I did and still talk about it as though it was only yesterday.
I watched the film Easy Rider 13/07/2019 yet again just to remind me of the places we visited, and thought been their seen that :-)
I rode "Captain America" through Flagstaff, you have to be careful as people stop and stare at you while taking photos, they hold the car steering wheel with there Knee :-) and point at you. It was awesome.
We had an absolutely fantastic time on our Eaglerider "Easy Rider" tour from LA to New Orleans, from 5 Aug to 18 Aug 2015. This was a special occasion for us (my 60th birthday), and we had booked the tour well in advance from Australia.
The check in process at Eaglerider LA was very easy and stress free, and in no time at all we were on our bikes for the ride to NoLA !
A special bonus on the trip was having a replica "Captain America" chopper in the trailer, for anyone on the tour to ride. My ride on "The Captain" through Death Valley was probably the most memorable day of my life. I had been looking at my poster of Easy Rider hanging in the shed for more years than I care to remember.
The whole trip through 8 states was fantastic. We were only a small group (eight of us), so it allowed for tailoring of the tour to suit us (ie visiting Harley shops). Eaglerider even had fantastic summer weather put on for us.
Special thanks to our tour leader Jeremy, and our van driver Chris, who both did remarkable jobs, making sure we were having the best time of our lives, whilst always ensuring our safety on the road.
I have the highest regard for Eaglerider Tours, and would absolutely recommend anyone thinking of touring with them.
