Indian Chief Vintage...Fantastic Ride!

I own four V-Twin Cruisers, but have always favored Indians. Rented the Vintage in June and was pleasantly surprised. Great ride!
The guys at the counter did a great job and were very friendly.
Am renting another bike for a 4 day trip. Will be a good experience.

SO Comfortable and powerful.

I got so many looks and comments today riding around Santa Monica and PCH. The bike is a great ride!! Until today, I had always taken out the Scout. So this was a big upgrade. If you're a Club Eaglerider member, give it a try, you can't be disappointed.

Refined and Unique

Normally I rent a Harley Davidson Heritage. This time, I rented an Indian Vintage for 5 days and was impressed.

The Vintage has the Harley Heritage feel, but is more refined. The forks on the Indian seem to be more stable. I did not notice the clunk when going over railroad tracks as I previously observed on the Heritage.

The stock seat is very comfortable. The stock exhaust sounds great. You experience a nice V twin sound from the factory which is not too loud, but not too quiet either. It is much more pleasing then the "sewing machine" sound from the stock Heritage exhaust.

The bags are nice and firm. The odometer is placed nicely. I did not get blinded by sunshine reflecting off the chrome on the tank, as I have in the past while riding the Heritage. I also liked the digital display window which easily indicates RPM, mileage, the gear you are in, etc.

The torque of the engine is fantastic. I was distracted and took off in 3rd gear once without problem due to the torque (I should have looked at the gear display). I also like the gear ratio of the transmission. Overdrive drops the RPMs down nicely to conserve gas and wear and tear on the engine.

The cruise control worked nicely, but was a bit of a reach for me to set. I also thought the handlebars seemed wide, but maybe one would get used to them with ownership. I think Indian has some handlebar options if desired.

The best thing is it is unique looking. There aren't billions and billions on the road .. yet ...

sweet ride

When the Vintage first showed up at Eaglerider New Orleans the first thing I was drawn to was the smell.
I know it sounds nuts but the leather smells awesome...

Then came bike night everyone rides a different bike for advertisement. Darren my boss said Melissa you ride the Indian. Pff alright I"m not scared.
Please, I was so nervous when we were taking off. But amazingly enough I was immediately comfortable with the handling and turning
of this beautiful machine.
I can't lie the front fender skirt was terrifying. But turned out to handle almost as good as my favorite (Street Glide). Affectionately known as"Big Bird ". Because he is YELLLLLOW...
