What is Open Around America

Many of you have reached out to ask what is open, and what precautions EagleRider and our partners are taking to make sure you enjoy a worry-free riding experience. So, here’s the latest!

Dear friends,

Like many of you, EagleRider team has never appreciated our time on the road more than we have the past few months. Every minute on the road is an escape from the confines of the challenges we have all been facing.

Many of you have reached out to ask what is open, and what precautions EagleRider and our partners are taking to make sure you enjoy a worry-free riding experience. So, here’s the latest!

The Las Vegas Strip opened for business again on June 10, as is evident in this awesome 30-second video:

As of today, Yosemite National Park, one of our most beloved riding destinations, is open for public access after being closed for the past several months.

With that, let’s look together at what the new safety standards are, what cities are doing to reopen for business, how National Parks are handling tourism and visitors, and what EagleRider has done to increase your safety and offer faster pickups and drop-offs.

What EagleRider is doing

We’ve been hard at work improving our systems to allow for expedited pickup and drop off process. Below are the five most notable changes that we’d like to share with you.

NEW RENTAL PICKUP PROCESS

Where possible (varies by location), we are facilitating outdoor check-ins. You won’t have to enter a building to do the rental paperwork on pickup. Now you can handle all this on your phone.

Once you arrive, our rental agents will greet you outside and check you in on mobile devices, then prompting you to sign the documents on your phone (you’ll receive an email with the link for that). We’ll provide you with a bike orientation and the keys will be on your bike saddle.

SANITATION STANDARDS

We've increased the frequency of sanitation in public areas at our locations, provided our team members with personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain strict standards on bike cleaning process prior to every pickup.

TOUR GUIDES

our tour leaders are COVID-tested prior to departure, along with regular health questionnaires to ensure the well-being of everyone involved in our guided tours experiences.

DEMAND FOR SELF-GUIDED TOURS

As you can imagine, a lot of riders opt in for just motorcycle rentals. However, we’re seeing an increased demand for our self-guided and guided tours due to our hotel partners connections and network.

EagleRider has gone through a rigorous vetting process to select only hotels that are adhering to the highest health and safety standards. We’ve done all the research for you! Email us at tours@eaglerider.com to get started with bike + hotel + expert route planning starting at $179 per day.

Cities and EagleRider Locations

Various cities across the US are in different phases of reopening. We did our best to gather the most accurate information but encourage you to follow our advice above and call ahead of time every meal or overnight stop place along your route.

POPULAR DESTINATIONS

Las Vegas strip with its resorts and attractions is officially open for business. You can learn more on their Visit Las Vegas website. Las Vegas is one of our main riding destinations and a gateway to so many amazing rides. We’re looking forward to your upcoming trips to Las Vegas!

Los Angeles, San Fransisco, Denver, Chicago, Phoenix, Seattle, Miami, Orlando EagleRider locations among others are open for rentals and self-guided tour departures.

WHAT ABOUT STURGIS?

Sturgis 80th anniversary has been the biggest rally we all are looking forward to. On June 15th the event organizers will share their status update regarding the plan to host the 80th Sturgis Rally Anniversary in 2020. Please visit sturgis.com for updates.

Please see the full list of open locations and re-opening dates on our COVID-19 information page.

Hotels

Many hotels are owned by large, often global chains, that are governing the new safety protocols. We looked at what some of the largest hospitality providers are doing and outlined their enhancements below.

  • More frequent sanitation of public areas
  • Disinfecting wipes or sanitizers in rooms
  • Wireless technologies implemented – “contactless” room entry
  • Incident reporting
  • Daily health questionnaire for employees
  • Thermal temperature scans/cameras
  • Signage throughout the facilities
  • Employee training
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • New guest arrival procedures
  • Cleaning products used that follow CDC guidelines
  • Reservations required for full-service restaurants at resorts
  • Reconfigured slot machines and game tables (in Las Vegas)
  • Resort stores and pools will be limited to ~50% occupancy

WHERE WE CAN HELP

EagleRider purchases thousands of hotel rooms each year for our tour guests. We have established relationships and a good network of partners across the USA. We’ve been in touch with our hotel partners and have secured lower hotel rates for our clients.

If you would like us to book your trips as self-guided tours where we provide you with a motorcycle rental, hotels, and a turn-by-turn navigation through an app, please contact out tours team for your custom quote.

Restaurants

While most restaurants, bars, and food providers are still predominantly closed, riders we talked to say they’re not having issues with finding places to eat.

If you have a chance to sit down and enjoy your meal, the masks won’t be required but the social distancing rules will be enforced. Some restaurants and bars will be more flexible in their procedures.

Please call ahead of time to check on the hours of operation and seating arrangements.

Gas Stations/Restrooms

Wear a mask when going inside to purchase snacks or use the restroom. Restrooms are open at most gas stations unless they're undergoing cleaning or out of order.

Most drivers who stop at gas stations in California, based on what we’ve seen, are not wearing masks as they fuel up, and rarely does anyone wear nitrile gloves for extra protection.

National Parks

National Parks closed their entrance gates to all visitors, just like most locations and destinations did over the past months. The last 6 weeks have been full of announcements from various parks regarding phased reopening.

We outlined the list of the most popular parks visited by our riders. Please refer to the chart below and see most up to date information on the official web page of each park and their Instagram accounts. Most parks are very responsive to comments and questions and often this may be your fastest way to get an answer besides calling. Another good place for up to day info is the news releases web page by NPS.

PHASES OF REOPENING

Most parks outlined several stages of reopening. Here is an example of the three phases that Yellowstone National Park is following to ensure safe and enjoyable time for all park guests.

ROAD STATUS

Some parks offer road status maps where you can see current closures. Here is an example of what Mount Rainier has closed due to construction.

Yellowstone NP also been reopening entrance points in phases. Just a few days ago Montana entrances were opened. Please take a look at the park map and current road closures and expected delays.

Zion NP recently shared an update regarding limited parking. Motorcyclists will have easier time finding spots and going on hikes, but since the shuttle service is not operating at this time, NPS is estimating that only 3-4 cars out of 10 can find sports at the trailheads.

DAY USE PERMITS

Yosemite NP is welcoming back visitors, but with quite more restrictions than other parks have announced so far. To enter the park for day use, you need to have a permit, for which you can apply online ($2 fee + park entrance fee if you don’t have an annual pass).

Only 1,700 daily passes will be issued, and new dates become available on a rolling basis (for example on July 1, August dates will be available for booking). The permit is for 7 days. You may also enter the park if you have existing lodging reservations.

All this is done to limit the influx of tourists and still allow for a safe experience of the natural beauty.

Please note, we added * to the status of the national Parks. While they are open for day use and riding through, some of the facilities may be limited or unavailable at this time.

Where do we go from here?

Of course, we’re love to see you picking up your bikes and going on epic adventures. If you’re able to travel safely, we’re operating our normal hours.

Our teams got smaller at this time and we’re seeing increased call volumes, so we greatly appreciate your patience while we offer as much personalized attention as you’d expect to receive yourself.

As always, we thank you for your business and cannot wait to see you in the nearest future.

Sincerely,

Team EagleRider
