Mountains, mountains, and more mountains is what you’ll see on this scenic day-ride! Start with a photo stop at picturesque Snoqualmie Falls, then ride through the foothills into the heart of the Cascade Range, the signature scenery of Washington state. Your destination is the mountain city of Leavenworth – a former logging & timber boom town, it revitalized its struggling economy in the 1960s by remodeling itself after a 19th-century Bavarian village. What was once a small tourist attraction is now a major vacation destination. Take a stroll down the main street, and you will feel transported to turn-of-the-century Germany, with biergartens, bratwurst, and schnitzel as far as the eye can see!
After lunch, you will return via highway I-90, up and over the forested mountains and ski resorts of Snoqualmie Pass, past the small town of North Bend (where the eccentric TV show ‘Twin Peaks’ was filmed), and back into the Seattle metro area.
This day-ride loop has plenty of miles, and impressive scenery to match. This is a great way to experience the beauty of the Cascade mountains. Enjoy!
