EagleRider has opened its doors in Las Vegas. Sin City glows like a spaceship fleet landed in the empty Mojave Desert. The manufactured resort city famed for a vibrant nightlife revolving around 24-hour casinos and a myriad of G- to R-rated shows. Its main street and focal point is the Strip, just over four miles long. It’s home to themed hotels with elaborate displays such as fountains synchronized to music at the Bellagio as well as replicas of an Egyptian pyramid, the New York skyline, the Venetian Grand Canal, and the Eiffel Tower, among others.
There’s more to motorcycling in Las Vegas than cruising the Strip. Red Rock Canyon is a mere 16 miles and tens of millions of years of geologic time from downtown. It offers stunning scenery and smooth sweepers for the enthusiast to enjoy. Other rides include 135 miles to the old mining town of Oatman, AZ, which sits on Historic Route 66, and the western town (replica) of Bonnie Springs, a bit cornball but fun outing and certainly worth the 27-mile gallop out of Vegas. Don’t get too close to the wild burros.
