Ride along on this well organised tour with our expert South African guide, on the cult motorcycle ‘Harley Davidson’®. We have put together a well planned tour for you where every day you will not only do plenty of riding but also do plenty of sight seeing. The bikes for our guided tours are from Harley-Davidson® Authorized rentals which means that we can offer an excellent range of the latest models which are all extremely well suited for you. Another bonus is that the tour will be accompanied by a van which will transport all your luggage. Depending on space availability accompanying people or non riders may also travel in the van. That means for you: pure bike riding experience! Do ask us for pre/extensions of your tour to Namibia, Mauritius or to Victoria Falls.

South Africa XXL Adventure Tour from Kruger to Capetown - Tour Itinerary

Arrival at Johannesburg/Capetown Airport and transfer to domestic departures for your onward flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International airport (own flight arrangements). On arrival at Kruger Airport you will be met by our local tour company and transferred to your hotel situated close to the Kruger National Park. This evening will be at your own leisure. Overnight Hazyview.
This morning is an early departure for a full day safari in the Kruger National Park, the largest of the South African National Parks and home to approximately 350 000 animals as well as over 500 bird species including eagles and vultures. Here you will have the opportunity to view the big five; elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo and leopard. Mountains, bush plains and tropical forests are all part of the landscape. Overnight in Hazyview
The Blyde River Canyon is a significant feature of South Africa and the second largest Canyon in Africa. It consists mainly of red sandstone and it supports a wide diversity of life, including numerous fish species and antelope, crocodile, hippo and monkeys. Other highlights on this panorama tour are the Bourke’s Luck potholes and God’s Window. This evening you will be joined and welcomed by your tour leader and guide for the the motorcycle tour. There will be a tour briefing followed by a group welcome dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Hazyview
This morning you take possession of your bikes which have been delivered to the hotel. After a short briefing your exciting and adventurous motorcycle tour commences. The route will take you through beautiful mountainous and agricultural landscapes to the central and western border of Swaziland, a landlocked monarchy which is known for it’s wilderness reserves and festivals showcasing traditional Swazi culture. The route will take you toward the capital Mbabane and our hotel for the night. Overnight near Mbabane.
Today you head east toward the coast before you turn south toward the South African border. En route you have the option to visit a candle workshop where highly decorative animal and geometric candles are handcrafted. Swaziland produces large amounts of sugar cane in the lowlands and this will be seen in abundance along the route. After crossing the border into South Africa you head to St Lucia, a World Heritage Site and unique estuarine system and wetland reserve, home to hundreds of crocodiles and hippos as well numerous bird species. Today you have a day at leisure. Time to relax and take a swim in the nearby Indian Ocean. In the late afternoon you have the possibility to join a Sunset Boat Cruise on Lake St. Lucia, where you can see hundreds of Hippos in a close encounter, as well as crocodiles and many other species. Overnight in St. Lucia. TOUR TIP: Sign up for the “Hippo & Croc” boat cruise on Lake St Lucia.
The Drakensberg mountain range is the highest in South Africa at a maximum height of over 3000 metres. The route will take us inland towards the mountains through a number of small towns. The main industries along this route through the KwaZulu- Natal region are sugar cane and logging (timber). The Natal Midlands is an area located just before the mountains and is also known as the Midlands meander that offers good restaurants, arts & crafts and is also a wine producing area. Today will be at your leisure at the hotel. You can just relax and enjoy the facilities the hotel has to offer e.g. swimming pool, spa, golf and there are also scenic hiking trails in the nature reserve close by. Overnight Drakensberg. TOUR TIP: The Sani Pass is the only road which provides access to the top of the Drakensberg from South Africa and the road climbs 1322 metres vertically to an altitude of 2876 metres and borders with Lesotho, a landlocked country within South Africa. A tour from the hotel with 4x4 vehicles will take you to the summit of the pass where you will visit a local Basutho Village followed by lunch at the highest pub in South Africa.
The route today takes you toward the southern part of the Drakensberg mountain range to the foothills of the Eastern Cape. This area is mainly commercial and subsistence farming and we will be passing through many small towns and hills dotted with traditional African mud huts en route to Queenstown, the commercial, administrative and educational centre of the prosperous surrounding farming district. Today you ride through the Little Karoo region to the historic town of Graaff-Reinet which is one of the oldest and best kept towns in South Africa with over 200 traditional Cape Dutch and Victorian styled, restored and protected buildings. We visit the Camdeboo National Park and ride up to the Valley of Desolation, with it’s very curvy roads and spectacular views. There will also be the possibility of spotting numerous antelope species such as kudu and red hartebeest as well the beautiful black eagle. You arrive in Graaff-Reinet in the early afternoon, which gives you time to explore this little town or relax by the pool. Overnight in Graaff-Reinet.
The small town of Oudtshoorn would be very sleepy if it were not for their large number of ostrich farms. The old glory days of the feather industry are gone but has been replaced by the popular and lucrative meat and leather industry. We shall get a glimpse of these very interesting birds at an ostrich show farm and will find out what makes the ostrich industry so important today. This evening our dinner will be a traditional South African Ostrich BBQ (braai) paired with some of the local wines which always promises to be a perfect combination. Overnight in Oudtshoorn.
Today you ride Route 62 which measured on its fame here in South Africa, is comparable to the Route 66 in the USA – it is just a bit smaller but definitely as appealing. It also happens to be the longest wine route in the world and some wineries along the route produce some of the best port wines and whiskies. It goes without saying that you shall visit the obligatory biker pubs, like Ronnie’s Sex Shop and Diesel & Creme – all of their owners are of course avid Harley Bikers and are looking forward to your visit. In the late afternoon you will travel over two beautiful mountain passes. You overnight in the Touws River area, well known for the dried fruit industry.
This morning you will start the day by riding over some exciting mountain passes and will arrive in the town of Ceres late morning. After a coffee break, you then travel over the scenic and curvy Bainskloof Pass constructed in the mid 1800’s. Just before lunch at a local winery, you ride the scenic Du Toits Kloof Pass and right after you take the Franschhoek Pass to your overnight destination in Stellenbosch. The Cape Winelands with its well known towns of Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch are only an hour drive away from Cape Town. This region was founded by the former Dutch and French colonists and is well known for the production of fine wines. Overnight in Stellenbosch.
This morning you head toward False Bay and follow the coast to the Cape of Good Hope National Park passing through a few quaint fishing villages. The Cape of Good Hope was first rounded by the explorer Bartolmeu Dias in 1488 in search of a new trade route to the east around the tip of Africa. You then head toward Cape Town along the spectacular Chapman`s Peak Drive and through the popular beach resorts of Hout Bay, Camps Bay and Clifton. As the motorcycle tour ends today you will hand the bikes back to the Harley-Davidson Dealer in Cape Town around Lunch time. This afternoon and evening at your own leisure. Overnight in Cape Town. TOUR TIP: Sunset cruise on a catamaran followed by dinner at one of the top seafood restaurants in the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
Your last day in Cape Town has arrived and today you have the opportunity to join a bus tour with your guide for a tour of the city visiting some of the historical attractions of the city such as Green Market Square, Company Gardens and Bo Kaap. Included will be a visit to Table Mountain (weather permitting). The mountain is one of the 7 new natural wonders of the world and the views from the top are truly spectacular. TOUR TIP: Cape Town City Tour & Table Mountain. TOUR TIP: 3 Bays - Helicopter flight around the peninsula and along the coast.
This morning will be at your leisure and perhaps some last-minute shopping. Early afternoon we will transfer you to the airport and you will fly out on a night flight back to Europe/UK/USA
