It's Biker Heaven...Each year, Sturgis' Main Street becomes a sea of motorcycles, leather and denim, not to mention, people. Since 1938, Sturgis has welcomed motorcycle enthusiasts from across the United States and around the world to the annual Motorcycle Rally. Based out of this small community in the northern Black Hills, the Rally officially runs for seven days every August. Attend the Rally once and it becomes clear why it's a mandatory destination for so many bikers. The sound of growling engines, the smell of exhaust, and the glint of sunlight off chrome are just a few of the elements that make the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally a unique experience. In 2015, a record 739,000 attended the rally’s 75th anniversary so expect to break more records for the rally’s 80th anniversary this year! And since it’s all about the journey, what could be more amazing than putting kickstands up in the home of Harley Davidson and heading West through the American Heartland, Grasslands, and Badlands to the biggest biker party of all! Join us for this awesome experience!

Milwaukee to Sturgis 12 Day Tour - Tour Itinerary

Welcome to Milwaukee, the birthplace of Harley-Davidson, and one of our favorite Great Lakes cities. We will help you with transfers from the airport to the Iron Horse Hotel in Downtown Milwaukee. Once everybody is settled, we will meet up with the rest of the group for a fun dinner and night out at one of our favorite local restaurants.
We will grab breakfast at the Iron Horse before making the short walk over to the H-D Museum for a truly VIP experience. There is a lot to see today as this Inside H-D: All-Day Experience is an in-depth immersion into the world of Harley-Davidson. An Amazing Day awaits you.
This morning we pick up our bikes and point them west to cross the entire state of Wisconsin. Renowned for its dairy products, we’ll head towards Madison, and pass the rich farmland and small picturesque towns that make up this region of the U.S. Tonight we’ll sleep on the shores of the mighty Mississippi River in La Crosse, WI.
Making our way west, we will traverse another state today – Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes. We will mostly be passing through the farming regions and grasslands of this midwestern state. By now, you’ll start seeing multitudes of other motorcycles converging on these roads and joining the migration towards Sturgis!
Today we cross almost the entire state of South Dakota from East to West. South Dakota is home to more than 71,000 American Indians — many of whom live on reservations in the State. This is the land of the Lakota Sioux Plains Indians where great herds of bison used to roam. Today, the Black Hills remains sacred to the Lakota Sioux.
Let's shake off the dust from our first evening in Sturgis and go for a ride. There are a multitude of day ride opportunities to choose from. You can take in one of the organized trips, venture off on your own, or simply take the short trip back to downtown Sturgis to take in all that is Sturgis.
Enjoy a day ride or head back to town for another crazy day.
Day ride with the group or head back to Sturgis for another crazy day.
This is the last day to enjoy Sturgis. Let your imagination run wild!
We'll sleep in just a bit and hit the road late morning after a nice breakfast. The good news is we will start the journey to Cheyenne with one last trip through the Black Hills of South Dakota. The ride to Cheyenne is as beautiful as any of the day trips we have enjoyed over the past four days. Tonight we will enjoy some true cowboy hospitality and some of the finest steaks in Wyoming.
The final riding leg of our journey is not a long one, but definitely one to remember. We'll take one last ride through the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains before easing our way back into the city life that has seemed a million miles away for the past nine days. Tonight we will celebrate together and raise a glass to the accomplishment of a lifelong dream for most motorcycle riders, as we simply toast to "Sturgis."
Thanks for a great Sturgis Tour, and we will see you all on next year's adventure! EagleRider
