Oregon Coast to Mountains Motorcycle Tour - Itinerario del Tour

Welcome to the City of Roses! Before your tour begins, take some time to explore this pearl of the Northwest, full of bridges, breweries, and a lovely mixture of urban and natural beauty. No trip to Portland is complete without wandering through Powell’s City of Books, grabbing a bite at Voodoo Doughnut, and drinking some of the best coffee you’ve ever tasted at one of a thousand great cafes. The city’s vibrant beer and coffee culture, liberal political attitudes, and abundant outdoor activities all contribute to the unofficial slogan: “Keep Portland Weird.”
Today you’ll pick up your bike and head west, riding through the scenic Tillamook State Forest on your way to the Tillamook Cheese Factory, where over 170,000 lbs. of cheese is made daily. Tours are available, and the Creamery Café is a lovely (and delicious) place to stop for lunch! Continue south on Highway 101, along the shores and cliffs of the mighty Pacific Ocean. Keep your eyes peeled for sea lions, sea otters, and maybe even some migrating Humpback Whales! 170 breath-taking miles take you through the small towns of Lincoln City, Newport, and Florence, eventually arriving in Coos Bay, your destination for the night.
Get an early start this morning, because today is chock-full of spectacular riding! Start by heading east on highways 42 and 138, going through the Umpqua National Forest and the southern end of the Cascade Mountain range. Wind your way through 180 jaw-dropping miles to Crater Lake National Park, a place that must be seen to be believed! The remnant of a massive volcanic eruption thousands of years ago, Crater Lake is the 3rd deepest lake in the world. No water flows out of Crater Lake, and it is only filled by rain and snow, causing its characteristic dark blue color. The Visitor Center is very informative, and be sure to stop for a coffee at the majestic Crater Lake Lodge. Ride back north to the city of Bend, where you’ll overnight.
From Bend you’ll ride north further along the Cascade Mountain range to the base of Mt. Hood, a dormant volcano and the highest and loftiest peak in Oregon (11,249 feet). Stop for lunch in The Dalles, named by French fur trappers and explorers in the 1800s, referring to the numerous rocks and rapids in the nearby Columbia River. Now it’s time to ride back to Portland, along the banks of the Columbia River! The 4th-largest in the USA, the Columbia River maps the border between the states of Washington and Oregon, and was the final journey in the great 1803-1805 overland expedition of Lewis & Clark.
We hope you had a wonderful tour, and we’ll see you again soon on your next great motorcycle adventure!
