Sturgis

Sturgis.  All you have to do is say the name within earshot of any avid motorcycle rider and watch their eyes light up.  2013 will mark the 73rd year of the Sturgis Rally with more than 500,000 motorcycles and people from all walks of life converging on a string of small towns in and around the Black Hills of South Dakota.  The Sturgis experience means something different to each person who makes the pilgrimage; some each year, and some for the first time.  Sure, there are more bars, concerts and parties than you can count.  Yes, there are leather clad men and women enjoying the festivities and traditionally great weather; some wearing more than others, of course!  Yet for most in attendance, Sturgis is about celebrating that unspoken bond that people with a passion for riding share.  For seven days every August in the Black Hills of South Dakota it doesn’t matter if you are a banker, dishwasher, toll collector or a judge.  It doesn’t matter if you are 66 or 26; or if you ride in on two wheels or three.  All that matters is that you love to ride.  This is why we choose to make this journey.  This is Sturgis.
