For those who think the other VTX model is too big—and it may be—there is the Honda VTX 1300. This V-twin cruiser feels lighter than it really is, and those who prefer smaller bikes may actually find they love this motorcycle just as much. This is a beautifully-appointed machine with plenty of refinement that doesn’t skimp on muscle.
Features and Specs
The heart of the Honda VTX 1300 is a liquid-cooled 1312cc V-twin engine, no slouch in the power department (and it sounds every bit as good as you’d want). This power plant hangs on mounts designed to absorb most of the motor’s rumble, keeping you comfortable as you tear down the road. And while this bike’s need for speed can take you from 0 to 60 in 5.31 seconds, the fantastic brakes allow you to stop on a dime. A 4.8-gallon tank will keep you going for a long time, and you’ll want to ride this bike for a quite a while indeed.
Background on the Bike
The VTX series, inspired by the Zodia concept from the 1995 Tokyo Motor show, began in 2002 with their larger version. Honda quickly realized that this monster was too much motorcycle for most riders, so they followed it up in 2003 with the VTX-1300, a much more manageable bike with the same great looks and no shortage of power.
Notable Appearances
The Honda VTX1300 has appeared on the Spanish television series Los simuladores.
