The Shadow line has a huge following, and this bike has been a popular model for nearly a quarter century. Its classic good looks and unforgettable rumble are sure to attract attention. This is a reliable, powerful bike.
Features
The Honda Shadow Spirit VT1100C sports a silky smooth, liquid-cooled 1099cc V-twin engine which packs plenty of punch. Its offset dual crankpins greatly reduce vibration, making this power much easier to handle. A nine-plate clutch and smooth-shifting five-speed gearbox mean that even a novice can leave the line cleanly. The seat is 28.7” high, accessible even to riders of slight stature, and is wide and comfortable enough to keep you happy for miles and miles—and you will ride miles and miles, as this bike features a 4.2-gallon fuel tank.
Design Background
Introduced in 1983, the Shadow line was Honda’s second V-twin, after the popular CX series. The series continued the tradition and has maintained its large fan base ever since its release, growing to range in model sizes from 125cc to 1100cc. The Shadow Spirit 1100 debuted in 1985 as the largest bike in the line.
