This morning you pick up your bike and start your exciting journey through Southern California. You are heading north on scenic Hwy 1. Ride through Malibu and continue to Oxnard, where you pick up Hwy 101, your road into Santa Barbara – a beautiful seaside community with its famous old mission, the historic wharf and palm-lined walkways. Overnight.

As you leave Santa Barbara you continue your journey along one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world – on Hwy 101 up to Gaviota, where Hwy 101 turns inland and takes you through the Santa Ynez Mountains. We suggest a stop in Solvang, an old-world Danish village, where you could visit the motorcycle museum. Ride via Santa Maria and Pismo Beach and follow Hwy 101 all the way into San Luis Obispo, where you overnight.

From San Luis Obispo you head north up to Creston, where you pick up Hwy 58 for a ride over the La Panza Mountain Range out to Carrizo Plain. Continue across the oil fields of McKittrick and Taft. A few miles out of Maricopa take Hwy 33, cross the Sierra Madre Mountains and cruise into Ojai. This popular artist’s colony and retreat is located in the valley surrounded by high mountains. Overnight.

Today your travels will take you inland, and you are heading east. Ride along the San Gabriel Mountains, Angeles National Forest and San Bernadino National Forest out into the Colorado Desert. Your destination is the fashionable resort of Palm Springs. With almost 350 days of sunshine per year, average temperature of 75 degrees, and the mineral springs, Palm Springs makes an excellent base. Overnight.

This morning you might want to visit Joshua Tree National Park, where you see amazing colors, rock canyons, and more kind of cacti than you ever knew existed. Now it’s back to the Coast, and you ride via Lake Elsinore and Cleveland National Forest all the way back to the Pacific Coast. Huntington Beach – nicknamed “Surf City USA” – is your stop for tonight. Enjoy beach life at its finest here. Overnight.

Enjoy a most wonderful ride along the Pacific Coast today, as you are heading north. Hwy 1 will be your route all the way back into Santa Monica. Your trip will take you via the popular seaside resort of Long Beach, home of the Queen Mary and the Aquarium of the Pacific. Cruise the beach cities of Redondo, Hermosa and Manhattan Beach before getting back into Santa Monica. Upon arrival it will be time to return your bike at EagleRider’s Santa Monica office and transfer to your hotel. Overnight.
