Enjoy the most famous route in Brazil, the Gold route, also called "Royal Road". This is the path that was used by the Portuguese to get the Gold and Diamonds out of Brazil when they discovered it back in the year 1500. This 9 day motorcycle ride will take you through incredible mountain road leading you to historical cities like Ouro Preto, Tiradentes, and Caxambu. In these cities you will find brilliant local hand-crafted object and have the opportunity to enjoy the historical buildings. We will visit the National Park of Itatiaia and explore the abandoned gold and diamond mines. Next up is Paraty where we will enjoy the local cuisine and music with an incredible ocean view.

Tour Itinerary

Rio de Janeiro was the capital of Brazil until 1960. It is known as Cidade Maravilhosa (The Marvelous City) and is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and scenery. Rio is one of the most culturally and economically prominent cities in Brazil and features some of the country's most famous attractions such as Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer and the iconic beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema.
Enjoy a continental breakfast and pick up your chosen bikes. We will have a tour around Rio riding around Floresta da Tijuca, the biggest urban Forest in the World stopping by Corcovado (Christ the Redeemer) - ticket included). We will then ride to Petropolix and enjoy a welcome dinner at Bohemia Restaurant
After breakfast we will start our tour of Petropolis. We will begin with the Imperial Museum - an ancient summer palace housing the 19th century artifacts of the Imperial family. Next up is Crystal Palace followed by Sao Pedro de Alcantara. After viewing these historical marvels we will depart to Ouro Preto.
Ouro Preto is considered by UNESCO as a historical site. It has managed to preserve its 18th century architecture across the years giving visitors the chance to take a step back in time. We will visit "Mina da Passagem" the only gold mine in Brazil and take a trolley to the underground galleries that house a natural lake that impresses everyone who sees it. There will be some quick riding in Ouro Preto but we will mainly enjoy the historical landmarks, the scenery and a caipirinha, Brazil's national cocktail.
In the morning we will depart ouro Preto and head to Congonhas, a town that has important works from the Golden Age of Brazil. We will see several points of interest such as Aleijadinhos sculptural masterpieces of the twelve prophets and Via Crucis (stations of the cross). We will then head to Jiradentes with a stop for lunch on the way
The tour today starts in Tiraden and we will head to Sao Joao Del Rei. This is a junction of various roads that cut across the interior on the Capitania. We will enjoy a half day cultural excursion and eat some of the best food in Brazil. Then we will hit the road for Caxambu, the city of mineral water!
Caxambu is the city of mineral water at Minas Gerais. It is the biggest mineral water part in the world. This city enchants tourists from all around the world with its rich history, attractions. A cable car takes you to the top of the highest peak in Caxambu giving you a breathtaking vantage point. After a break for lunch we will hit the road towards Paraty with a few great stops in between.
Paraty Brazil has long been considered one of Brazil's historical, hidden gems. Soak up the sun along the golden coast or explore the quaint historical town where there is plenty to see and do. After breakfast we will take a schooner tour that sails to several of the most beautiful beaches and islands all surrounded by dense rainforest. The tour includes snorkel equipment so you can do some underwater exploration on each of the stops!
After breakfast we will hit the road back to Rio de Janeiro with a quick stop to try "pastel" a Brazilian specialty food. Once back in Rio we will have a farewell lunch to reminisce about the amazing adventure we just shared.
