Back on the Parkway again we will ride along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountain where it encompasses some of the oldest settlements of both pre-historic and pioneer life. Along the Parkway are many scenic overlooks, visitor center exhibits and restored historic structures. Among the earliest inhabitants of the Blue Ridge were the Cherokee, Saponi, Monacan, and Tutelo Indian tribes that left artifacts and changes in the landscape as evidence of their existence. We end our day in the ski lodge areas in the vicinity of Grandfather Mountain.
