Additional Location Features
Online registration was easy. Pick up was fairly simple. The staff was friendly and helpful in every way. I rented a 2012 Street Glide. It was a nice looking ride but it had 50,000 miles on it and when looking closer, it looked like it has been rode hard and put away wet. My biggest disappointment is that the cost of the rental was more expensive than the Des Moines Harley Davidson that I rented a Fat Bob from a week prior and the quality of service and the condition of the motorcycle were leaps and bounds above Eagle Rider.
The Street Glide was like riding a neighbor's used bike. It had intermittent electrical issues. It was a loose connection somewhere. The radio would cut off if I hit a bump. The bike would not start every time. I had to turn the switch on and off a few times before it would work. There were a few occassions when the check engine light and low battery light came on during operation and the voltmeter showed a reading under 12 volts. The bike also stalled at idle on more than one occasion. Also the transmission was clunky and stiff. I had a real hard time getting it into neutral. Three or four attempts each time before it landed on N.
The overall upkeep of the motorcycle was poor. I didn't feel completely confident that the motorcycle wouldn't break down on me. It was ok for around town but I would not have trusted it on a road trip.
