Day 1 : Denver - Glenwood Springs

Denver Explorer I

Leave Denver on Hwy 36 and head toward Boulder, on to Estes Park and you cross through Rocky Mountain National Park. You are now on Hwy 34 and go south to Granby, home to many dude ranches. As you continue west your ride will take you through Hot Sulphur Springs and Kremmling, down to Wolcott and from here straight into Glenwood Springs. This is a bustling little town, which sits at the end of impressive Glenwood Canyon and has the “World’s Largest Outdoor Hot Springs Pool”. Overnight.


Day 2 : Glenwood Springs - Leadville

Denver Explorer I

Out of Glenwood Springs you pick up Hwy 82 and are in for a scenic ride along Glenwood Canyon. Then cut through White River National Forest, where elevations range from 5,345 ft to 14,265 ft. Ride via the famous skiing resort of Aspen and on to Twin Lakes. When you get to Weston Pass you turn left and are on your way to Leadville, said to be the highest incorporated city in the country. Overnight.


Day 3 : Leadville - Denver

Take Hwy 24 and ride south to Buena Vista – enjoy the beautiful view over the Sawatch Range here. Follow Hwy 24 and you are riding the Rocky Mountains, cross Trout Creek Pass and Wilkerson Pass. At Woodland Park you enter Hwy 67 and head north toward Pine, where you take US 285 back to Denver. Return your motorcycle.
