Day 2 : Los Angeles - Ensenada
After our welcome breakfast we pick up our motorcycles from EagleRider. Shortly after we are on the road cruising through Orange County’s beach cities Sunset Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach before we reach the interstate that gets us to San Diego and to the border. About an hour after we have entered Mexico we will reach our final destination for today. Ensenada offers good entertainment, restaurants, street cafes and bars along Avenida Lopez Mateos. Of course a visit to one of the oldest bars in Mexico; Hussong’s is also part of our evening schedule.
Day 3 : Ensenada - San Felipe
Today we are cutting across Baja Mexico from the West to the East side on Highway 3 and 5. San Felipe is a remote little desert community enjoying warm and dry climate in winter; just perfect for our little getaway. We’ll hang out at local restaurants at the water or can even ride down to Puertecitos if we haven’t had enough time in the saddle yet.
Day 4 : San Felipe - Julian
Day 4 brings us back to the U.S. where we will enjoy a fantastic mountain ride along Highway 2, cross the border and head towards Anza Borrego Desert. The desert flower are blooming at this time and it’ll be an amazing sight on our ride through. We’re approaching the little old Western Town Julian. Time seems to have stopped here and if you’re in the mood for something sweet you’ll really like the different varieties of pie that’s being sold in Julian.
Day 5 : Julian - Los Angeles
The 79 gets us back into Riverside and Orange County and on the way we’re passing the wine area of Temecula. 79 connects with Ortega Highway which offers a beautiful ride through the curvy switchbacks of Lake Elsinore. On weekends this is pure sports bike territory but today the road is ours. We’re heading west towards the ocean and if there’s enough time left we can again chose Pacific Coast Highway to ride along the coast line or pick up the interstate that’ll get us back to EagleRider. At the good-bye dinner we’ll recap this short but long lasting trip into a different world.
