Day 1 : San Francisco Arrival
You arrive at either San Francisco International Airport or Oakland and arrange for your transfer to the hotel in downtown San Francisco. At 7:00pm we will officially welcome you to California and to this exciting ride with a cocktail. You will get to know you tour guide and your fellow riders that will join you for the next 6 days. At the end of this trip you will all have become close friends.
Day 2 : San Francisco - Monterey
We will pick up our motorcycles at EagleRider SFO and off we go to one of the best lookout points in this city. Everyone feels great and we get the birds eye view of downtown San Francisco as we ride across Golden Gate Bridge. We take a short stroll through Sausalito and soon we are heading south on Highway 1 along the rugged Pacific coast. We reach today's destination Monterey fairly early and there will still be time to even visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium, one of the best aquariums the world has to offer. Optional we can ride to the race track and check out the location so we know what's going on for the next day. At dinner we are already betting on who is going to be this years GP winner.
Day 3 : Monterey
The day has come, the pack roars to the race track. We are checking in and off we go discovering what this place has to offer. Like lightning you see the bikes fly by, the noise, the smell of gasoline, the atmosphere, the people, everything fits just perfect. We'll see free practice and check out who gets the pole position during qualifying practice of the Moto GP World Championship. Another highlight is Race 1 of the Red Bull AMA Rookies Cup - 125 cc riders between 13 and 16 years old that ride just like the older pros. There are also countless vendor booths on the track that show off bikes and sell motorcycle accessories and riding gear.
Day 4 : Monterey
A cool morning ride gets us across G20, Laurels Canyon road and we beginn the day with free breakfast at Club Laguna Seca. We still have time to check out Ducati Island, the Honda presentation stands or any other of the well known bike brands before the warm up for Moto GP and qualifying practice for the AMA Superbike begins. Your pass allows you to enter the paddock area and after the warm up is a good time if you'd like to shoot a photo or get an autograph from your favourite riders when they cut through the crowd to get to their tents. After lunch at Seca Club it will be time for the pro's take over the track - let the races begin! We will see the 32 lap MOTO GP race followed by the 28 lap AMA Superbike race.
Day 5 : Monterey - Pismo Beach
Despite a little tired from the event of the past two days we are ready for 60 miles of curves and overwhelming scenic beauty. After a stop in Carmel we are riding through Big Sur; you will find it hard to decide between just riding your bike and enjoying the fabulous road or stopping repeatedly for the next photo shot that's even better than the one before. We stop by the sea elephants that are dozing at the beach near San Simeon. Two hours later we are checking in at our hotel in Pismo Beach; it's located downtown right on the beach. A great nearby restaurant offers exactly what we need after a great day of riding.
Day 6 : Pismo Beach - Los Angeles
We leave Pismo Beach and just before Santa Maria we cut inland, taking a hidden back road which leads us to a tucked away old stagecoach. Traveling further the road gets us into the Santa Barbara vicinity. Highway 101 leads us south and shortly we will be exiting to get back onto Highway 1 and into Malibu for lunch. See how the rich and famous live in their ocean front homes or high up ontop a hill of the Santa Monica Mountains overlooking the Pacific that spreads out beneath. We are cruising through Santa Monica and Venice Beach along one of the remaining canals that Abbot Kinney built in 1905 in order to rebuild Venice, Italy. Via the great yacht harbor of Marina del Rey we are reaching the EagleRider location and drop off our bikes. Our farewell dinner comes way too early and we are already discussing some other trip we could do next year.
Day 7 : Los Angeles Departure
It is time to say "good bye" to our newly made friends and tour guides.
We hope to see you again next year for a new adventure.
