It also features a CVT transmission, which improves fuel economy by allowing the engine to run at its most efficient rpm for a wide range of scooter speeds.
History & Background
The Honda Silver Wing motorcycle series, was introduced in 1981 as a variant of the CX500 series with the Honda GL500. This innovative touring motorcycle was followed in 1983 by the GL650, which increased engine power and overall performance over its predecessor, but the line was discontinued in 1984. Honda resurrected the brand name in 2001 with the Silverwing scooter series, a line which keeps the spirit of the original line alive.
