Honda Shadow Sabre 1100

The Honda Shadow Sabre VT1100 is a powerful and inspired V-twin hot-rod cruiser motorcycle that handles as beautifully as it looks. This bike is a standout model in an established line with a huge following. This is a street rod that’s supposed to be all about power, but it can’t help but be incredibly comfortable as well. If you’re looking for a motorcycle with a lot of muscle and a great look, this is your bike.

Under the Seat

The Shadow Sabre 1100 features a liquid-cooled 1099cc V-twin engine that puts out 64hp at 5,500rpm and 71.8ftlbs of torque at 3,000rpm. The chassis, suspension, and brakes all match the performance of the engine, a quality not all cruisers possess, and you’ll find yourself navigating serious corners and poorly-maintained concrete with relative ease. The seat, at an accessible 27.2”, is neither too narrow nor too wide and is quite comfortable, adding to an already smooth ride.

Why it was Built

The Sabre, introduced in 1982, actually predates the Shadow line, which continued the tradition of the VT 1100 and other great Honda bikes. Built to be “a bold new street rod,” this bike was an instant success.
